Ardmore Community Newsletter Sep 2026

Ardmore Community Newsletter Sep 2026

Dear Ardmore Families,

We are off to a wonderful start to the school year! It has been exciting to welcome our students back, meet our new Eagles, and see our classrooms filled with learning, connection, and joy.

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for Curriculum Night. We appreciate you taking the time to learn more about your child’s classroom, curriculum, routines, and what to expect this year. If you were unable to attend, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher, who can share the slides that were presented.

Throughout September, our teachers have been working closely with students to establish strong classroom routines, build relationships, and create welcoming learning environments where every student feels a sense of belonging. Students are also completing their i-Ready beginning-of-year assessments. The assessment widow closes Sep 30t from 1-5th and you will get a copy of this after that or you can view the results in synergy. These assessments provide our teachers with important information about each student’s current strengths and areas for growth, helping us plan instruction and provide more individualized support throughout the year.

We are also excited to recognize and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. This is an opportunity to honor the cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. Throughout the month, students will have opportunities to learn, reflect, and celebrate together.

As we continue launching the school year, we are grateful for the partnership between our families and staff. Working together helps us create the strongest possible learning experience for our students. We look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, belonging, and community.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We are proud to be Ardmore Eagles!

Please see below for important updates and reminders for the coming weeks.

After School Clubs

alt

We are excited to share that we will be offering several after-school activities sponsored through our PTSA designed to provide students with fun, engaging, and culturally enriching experiences!

Clubs will be offered during four sessions throughout the school year: Fall, Winter 1, Winter 2, and Spring. This will give students multiple opportunities to participate in different activities throughout the year. Each session we may offer different sessions.

Please review the descriptions of our Fall clubs below and click the registration link for additional details and to sign up.

Fall Registration Timeline

  • Registration Opens: Today Wednesday, September 16
  • Registration Closes: Monday, September 21 at 6:00 PM
  • Families Notified: Thursday, September 24

How Registration Works

Registration will follow a lottery system. After the registration window closes, families will be notified if their child has been selected for a club.

If your child is not selected, they will be placed on a waiting list, and we will do our best to prioritize students who were unable to participate when registration opens for the next session.

We are excited to provide these opportunities for our students and look forward to a fun Fall session!

Pick up /Drop off

Safety First

Thank you for using the yellow car pick-up signs. They have greatly helped us make dismissal smoother and more efficient.

Please make sure you arrive on time to pick up your student, as our staff often have meetings and other responsibilities immediately after dismissal.

School Dismissal Times:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 2:35 PM
  • Wednesday: 12:30 PM

Campus Safety

For the safety of our school community, all adults entering the school building must check in at the Main Office. We appreciate your partnership in helping us keep our students safe.

Parking Lot Safety

  • ELP Parking: This area is reserved for Early Learning pick-up and drop-off only. Please do not park in these designated spaces unless you are picking up or dropping off an Early Learning student.
  • Slow Down: Please drive carefully and follow the campus speed limit. Student safety is our top priority, and your cooperation helps us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.

Safety Drills

Washington state law and Bellevue School District policy require all schools to hold at least one drill per calendar month while school is in session. This week we conducted a fire drill and practiced evacuating the building and accounting for everyone.

During a fire evacuation, students are taught to quickly and quietly exit the building. They meet on the field at an assigned location and stay silent while attendance is taken to ensure all people have safely evacuated.

Please talk with your student about preparing for emergencies and disasters such as fires. Encourage them to talk about their concerns and express their feelings. Emphasize that even though sometimes things happen that we may not expect, there are lots of things we can do to help us stay safe.
