Welcome back to school, Ardmore Eagles!

Come meet your new classmates and teachers, and enjoy some refreshments. We are excited to see our families and students!

Learn about the PTSA, school events, register for after school care through Boys and girls club, learn about after-school clubs, transportation, immunizations, and get all your back-to-school questions answered. We can’t wait to see you!

Event Details:

🗓 Monday, 8/31 – Join us at the school to meet your new classmates and teachers and enjoy refreshments.

📧 Monday 8/31 around 4 PM – Be on the lookout for an email from your child’s classroom teacher welcoming you to their class.

Bus Round-Up:🚌 Starts at 5 PM New bus riders can meet the bus driver and take a ride around the school.

 

Kindergarten Classroom Experience

Kindergarten students and parents are welcome to join us for a special classroom event! 

When:  Wednesday, 8/26, 10:00am-11:00am

Who:  Incoming Kindergarten students and guardians

Where:  Ardmore Elementary School

What:  Students will be able to tour the classroom, common areas such as the bathroom, experience a short learning activity, and meet our kindergarten teachers.  Parents will drop their kids and will go to the café to meet the Principal and get answers to questions regarding school procedures, curriculum and more!

Free Breakfast and Lunch 

We are happy to share that breakfast and lunch will be offered at no cost (FREE) for all students attending Ardmore Elementary during the 2026-27 school year!

While meals are free, it is still important that you complete the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) application as it may qualify you for:

· Summer EBT grocery benefits (SUN Bucks);

· Waived or reduced fees for other programs and activities;

· Community resources available through our Family Engagement Specialists; and/or

· Help secure additional funding for our school!

The 2026-27 CNEEB application will be available the week of August 17, 2026 and can be completed online at: www.bsd405.org/freeandreduced.

If your child is new to Ardmore or starting Kindergarten, please provide a copy of your child’s immunization records and any applicable health plan or medication authorization forms on the first day of school. We will need the health plans and medication authorization for returning students as well.  You may also bring these documents with you to our Open House on August 31 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.

One of the ways to communicate with school is through text messages.  At Ardmore, we are happy to communicate with you using the Talking Point app.  You may receive messages from your teachers, Ms. Obaid. we will also send our monthly newsletter. Please download here:

Hello Families! We are excited to announce that starting this year, we will be sending our daily absence notifications via text, using Talking Points, instead of with the pre-recorded phone call. Not only will you be able to receive the information in your preferred language, you can also respond in any language to share the reason for your child’s absence. Sharing the reason for your student’s absence helps us better support your child during and after the absence.

 

Only families who have not reported their child’s absence will receive the text. Each Talking Points text thread is individual, private, and secure. It is protected by FERPA laws and is only visible to our Attendance Specialist and Administrators (just like email).

 

Some important tips:

• We are asking families to use text to report their child’s absences and communicate about attendance rather than by email or phone call. (You can even send Dr.’s notes, etc. just like email)
• Each individual parent receives their own individual number to text. You will receive your first text with the number on the first day of school
• You can always check your child’s attendance in ParentVue. Help with ParentVue available here ParentVue help

• Since this is a new service we are offering, there may be some errors or technical difficulties. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure everything is working properly.

Remember, every day matters! Just 1 absence every 2 weeks is considered chronically absent (even if it’s excused). Please schedule appointments and personal travel on non-school days and only keep your child home if they are actually Too Sick for School. Parent Vue is a wonderful APP to keep track of attendance and schoolwide communication.  If your student is about to enter middle school, we highly recommend that you get familiar with this APP because you'll be able to keep track of much more school-related messages such as Assignments and Grades.

Ardmore Title I Program 

ARDMORE, LAKE HILLS, SHERWOOD FOREST, and STEVENSON

ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS and HIGHLAND MIDDLE SCHOOL Receive TITLE I Funds! 

The federal “Elementary and Secondary Education Act” (ESEA) - enacted in 1965 - is the nation’s

national education law. ESEA authorizes several state-run programs for eligible schools & districts. Now known as ESSA (Every

Student Succeeds Act), the law works to address the performance gaps between student groups in our schools by offering services

& interventions to support struggling learners.

ESSA is aimed at providing all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close

educational achievement gaps. TITLE I programs and services provide supplemental education assistance that helps students meet

our state’s challenging academic standards and assessments, while also taking an active, engaged interest in what they learn and

Adding Arabic Preschool Class. Enroll Now!

We are excited to share that next year we will be adding an additional preschool class that offers Arabic.

This class will be open to any student who would like to learn Arabic as a second language, as well as students who are native Arabic speakers.
