Ardmore Community Newsletter: June 2026

Dear Families,

We can’t believe we are already in the last month of school! This has been such a special year, and we have loved watching our students grow and learn together. Report cards will be sent home with students on the last day of school.

This year has been filled with learning, growth, and celebration. Our community has learned so much from one another, and we are proud of all that we have accomplished together.

We are also excited to share that our school has received an award from the Washington School Recognition Program. In total, nine Bellevue School District schools were recognized for their work in closing opportunity gaps and supporting student growth and academic achievement during the 2024–2025 school year. This honor was awarded to only 16% of schools across the state.

This recognition is a reflection of the hard work of our students and staff, as well as the continued support and partnership of our families. Thank you for helping make this possible.

As we wrap up the school year, please take a moment to review the important upcoming dates and events listed below.

Reminder: Next week is the final week of after-school clubs June 12th. We would like to thank our PTSA and the Bellevue Schools Foundation for their support in making it possible to offer such rich, diverse, and engaging after-school opportunities for our students this year.

Celebrating AANHPI and Jewish Heritage Month 

We were excited to celebrate both AANHPI Heritage Month and Jewish American Heritage Month during May. Throughout the month, we hosted a student-led assembly where students shared meaningful aspects of their identities and cultures. As a school community, we also read a book that highlighted the theme of hope in the Jewish community. Students then had the opportunity to share a word that is important to their own identity, which will be included in a memorial display around our school.. 

 

Spotlight on Instruction 

Students in 2nd grade have been focusing on Global Goal 15 this year through a literacy unit on Bugs and Their Ecosystems. Recently, through a community partnership, they had the opportunity to learn from a beekeeper about bees, their important role in ecosystems, and the importance of protecting them as a threatened species.

Hindi End of Year celebrations and Hindi after school sign up 2026-2027

We are so grateful to celebrate all the learning our students have accomplished in Hindi this year. We were also excited to welcome back  representatives from the Indian Consulate as we celebrated student learning and shared the transition and expansion of our Hindi language program. Beginning next year, Hindi learning will continue through an after-school model that is open to all students interested in learning Hindi or exploring a new language. K–5 students can sign up here.

Student Safety 

Washington state law and Bellevue School District policy require all schools to hold at least one drill per calendar month while school is in session. This Month we will be  conducting a fire drill and practiced evacuating the building and accounting for everyone.

During a fire evacuation, students are taught to quickly and quietly exit the building. They meet on the field at an assigned location and stay silent while attendance is taken to ensure all people have safely evacuated.

 

Please talk with your student about preparing for emergencies and disasters such as fires. Encourage them to talk about their concerns and express their feelings. Emphasize that even though sometimes things happen that we may not expect, there are lots of things we can do to help us stay safe.

26-27 Childcare: Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue to be Offered at All BSD Elementary Schools 

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue and the Bellevue School District are pleased to announce an expanded partnership that will begin in the 2026–2027 school year. Starting this fall, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue will become the sole provider of before and after‑school care for preschool and school‑age students at every BSD elementary school.
