The preschool years are a special time in a student’s life. During these early years, children become more independent, begin to develop self-control and learn to establish themselves in socially accepted ways. The Bellevue School District’s preschool program provides opportunities for children to practice these skills and more. Our teachers believe in the importance of discovery through play and imagination, as well as routine and structure throughout the day. Teachers work collaboratively to target behaviors and skills that are important for kindergarten readiness.
In our classrooms, teachers create a welcoming community that nurtures development, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Partnering with families, we celebrate each child’s unique strengths and cultivate an environment where all students thrive together.
Our inclusive approach benefits every student, fostering understanding, empathy, and collaboration among children with and without disabilities. With individualized supports, creative learning environments, and engaging curricula, we empower each child to participate fully, build lasting friendships, and develop essential social-emotional skills.
Students enjoy:
- Hands-on learning through teaching others
- Strengthened social and emotional growth
- Appreciation of individual differences
- Practice in empathy and problem-solving
- A greater understanding of diversity
We invite you to join our joyful, inclusive community where every child belongs, learns and leads!
